  • 1967-1989

    1967 - 1989

Our journey began in 1967, when GME System was founded in Sweden during a time of rapid industrial modernization. The company emerged as a pioneer in designing customized electronics for industrial automation, serving a growing demand for smarter, more efficient control systems in factories and machinery.
  • 1989

    1989 - 1999

In 1989, GME was acquired by Atlas Copco and renamed Atlas Copco Controls, marking its entry into a broader industrial ecosystem. Another defining milestone came in 1996, whit the launch of our first AC inverters for electric forklift trucks, leading the industry-wide shift from DC to AC technology in material handling. This innovation was rooted in our expertise in AC induction and servo control systems, developed through robotics and industrial automation.
  • 1999-2009

    1999 - 2009

A few years later, in 1999, the company was acquired by Danaher Corporation and officially became Inmotion Technologies, aligning with a global leader in motion control. The early 2000s saw further expansion through the integration of Kollmorgen and Elmo Motors, forming Danaher Motion.
  • 2009-2014

    2006 - 2014

In 2009 the Electric Vehicle business (EVS) of Danaher Motion changes name to the Kollmorgen brand. With a global footprint and history of excellence including manufacturing in China Sweeden and the US.
  • 2014-Today

    2014 - Present

In 2014,  ZAPI GROUP acquired the company and restored the name Inmotion. This acquisition marked a strategic turning point, integrating Inmotion into a global electrification powerhouse and expanding its role in high-voltage solutions for hybrid and heavy-duty electric vehicles.
